Windows or Macintosh?

Our computers are running Windows XP, but most Macintosh users adapt just fine to working in a Windows environment, particularly because Photoshop behaves almost identically on both platforms.

The digital darkroom lab at the Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging is outfitted with PC computers running the Windows XP operating system. This should not deter you if you are a Macintosh user. We are here to help you get the most out of your learning experience. Mac users will be comfortable attending any of our courses.

Most of our courses emphasize Adobe Photoshop, which operates almost the same way on both PCs and Macs. It will look very familiar to you. The difference is simply a few keystrokes on the keyboard. For example, on a PC the "Ctrl" key is used instead of the "Command" key on the Mac. Similarly, "Alt" is used instead of "Option." With just these two basic key changes, Macintosh users will easily adapt to the PC environment. A number of our instructors and our lab manager use Macintosh as their primary computer platform. Someone who understands how to "translate" Mac to PC will always be on hand to assist you.

Have no fear, Macintosh users are most welcome at the Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging. We have WiFi for your convenience also. Pick a course and join us. And, as always, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
